Our proposal to get to know Lisbon is a guided tour through its main monuments, viewpoints and main roads. We will necessarily match the interest of each family because there will certainly be places that can be visited from the place where you are staying and therefore we will expedite the alternatives that are more distant from that possibility.

Our experience suggests that we start in Belém visiting the Tower, a monument that we recognize as the most representative “ex-libris” of the city of Lisbon. Here we can also remember the first aerial crossing of the South Atlantic by Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabral in 1922 between Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro.

We will continue to the Jerónimos Monastery, built between 1501 and 1601. It is classified as world heritage by UNESCO (as is the Tower of Belém) and is one of the most emblematic tourist attractions in Portugal. In the same place we will have the opportunity to taste a delicious “pastel de Belém”, the most famous Portuguese conventual sweet known all over the world. We will also take the opportunity to visit the Monument of the Discoveries inaugurated in 1940 in the scope of the “Exhibition of the Portuguese World”.

From here we will follow along the Tagus River to the Parque das Nações in the Eastern part of Lisbon. We will pass in front of the Terreiro do Paço, Santa Apolónia train station and in the Park you can have a quick meal in one of the many restaurants on site or in the Shopping Center. We propose a walking tour between the Oceanarium and the Vasco da Gama Tower.

After the walking tour we can continue to the center of Lisbon and we will not miss the possibility to enjoy a view of the city from the top of the Eduardo VII Park. We can use the remaining time, and or necessary, to visit some squares and important places in the city, such as Martim Moniz, Praça da Figueira, Rossio, Largo Camões and Terreiro do Paço.

hello.
